China's Visa-Free Transit Policies: How the 24-Hour and 240-Hour Rules Work

China currently operates two tiers of visa-free transit: the 24-hour policy applies at all open ports of entry, while the 240-hour policy currently covers nationals of 57 countries. Below is a summary of the key points published by the National Immigration Administration.

24-Hour Visa-Free Transit: implemented at all open ports of entry for nationals of all countries.
