Chinese Embassy in Japan: Visa Fees Adjusted from September 14
On 11 September 2026 the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan issued a notice on the adjustment of visa fees for Japan. In line with reciprocal visa fee arrangements, the visa fees charged to Japanese citizens for travel to China were adjusted from 14 September 2026.
- Publication and effect: The notice was issued by the Chinese Embassy in Japan on 11 September 2026, and the adjustment applied from 14 September 2026.
- Adjusted fees: Visa fees for Japanese citizens travelling to China are now 16,750 yen for a single-entry visa, 25,100 yen for a double-entry visa, 33,500 yen for a six-month multiple-entry visa and 50,250 yen for a one-year multiple-entry visa.
- Transitional arrangement: Applications accepted before 14 September 2026 are charged at the previous rates.
- Scope: Visas issued to nationals of third countries continue to be charged at the previous rates.
- Other requirements: The notice covers visa fees only. Document requirements and application procedures are set out in the service guides published by the Chinese Embassy and consulates in Japan.
The fees set out in the notice are denominated in Japanese yen and listed by number of entries. The amount actually payable and the accepted payment methods are those announced by the office handling the application.
