从英国飞中国，选票可以按四步走：先确认有没有直飞航点，再算飞行时长与到达时间，然后比较经中东、欧洲或亚洲枢纽的转机方案，最后核对行李规则与退改条件。直飞省时间但航点少，中转便宜但要看衔接时间是否够用。
- 直飞航点：从伦敦希思罗出发的直飞航线主要覆盖北京、上海、广州等门户城市，部分航季还有成都、深圳、青岛、重庆等航点。承运人包括中国国际航空、中国东方航空、中国南方航空、海南航空，以及英国航空等，班期随航季调整，以航司官网为准。
- 飞行时长：伦敦到北京约10小时，到上海、广州约11至12小时；具体以当日航路、机型和风向为准，冬春季逆风时通常更长。
- 转机常见方案：经香港、首尔、东京、新加坡、曼谷、吉隆坡等亚洲枢纽，或经迪拜、多哈等中东枢纽，以及赫尔辛基、法兰克福、阿姆斯特丹、巴黎、伊斯坦布尔等欧洲枢纽。中东与欧洲转机往往能衔接更多中国内陆城市。
- 时差与到达时间：英国冬令时比中国晚8小时、夏令时晚7小时。从英国下午起飞的航班多在次日中午前后到达中国，跨过日期变更，订票时要看清“到达日”，别把接机或酒店日期算错。
- 票价区间：票价没有固定标准，受季节、提前期、是否直飞、退改条件影响，暑期、圣诞新年与春节前后明显偏高。直飞通常贵于一次中转，建议同时比较两类方案，以航司官网实时报价为准。
- 行李规则差异：同一张联程票通常可以把行李直挂到最终目的地；分开购票自行中转，需要在中转地提取行李再重新托运，还要留出足够衔接时间。按件计费与按重量计费的航司免费额度不同，购票前先看客票条件。
从伦敦以外的机场出发：曼彻斯特、爱丁堡、伯明翰等机场通常没有直飞中国内地的航班，需要先到欧洲或中东枢纽转机。买同一张联程票时，前段延误由承运人负责改签；自行拼两张票，前段延误导致的误机由旅客自己承担，衔接时间建议留足3小时以上。
出发前的证件核对：英国公民短期旅游、商务、探亲与过境可按现行单方面免签、240小时过境免签等政策入境，但工作、学习、常驻采访等目的仍需相应签证，且免签入境对停留期与活动范围有限制。登机前按实际行程核对证件，以免在值机柜台被拒。

Flights from the UK to China: Direct Routes, Connections and Baggage
Choosing a flight from the UK to China comes down to four steps: check whether a direct route exists, work out flight time and arrival time, compare connections through Middle Eastern, European or Asian hubs, then check baggage rules and change conditions. Direct flights save time but serve fewer cities; connections cost less but only work if the transfer window is realistic.
- Direct routes: nonstop services from London Heathrow mainly cover Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, with Chengdu, Shenzhen, Qingdao and Chongqing served in some seasons. Carriers include Air China, China Eastern, China Southern and Hainan Airlines, plus British Airways and others. Schedules change with the season, so confirm on the airline's own site.
- Flight time: London to Beijing is roughly 10 hours; London to Shanghai or Guangzhou roughly 11 to 12 hours. Actual times depend on the day's routing, aircraft type and winds, and tend to run longer on winter headwinds.
- Common connections: through Asian hubs such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur; Middle Eastern hubs such as Dubai and Doha; or European hubs such as Helsinki, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and Istanbul. Middle Eastern and European connections often reach more secondary Chinese cities.
- Time difference and arrival: the UK is 8 hours behind China in winter time and 7 hours behind in summer time. Afternoon departures from the UK usually land in China around midday the next day, so check the arrival date carefully and do not misbook airport pickup or hotel nights.
- Fare levels: there is no fixed price. Fares move with season, how far ahead you book, whether the flight is nonstop and how flexible the ticket is, and they peak around summer, Christmas and New Year, and Chinese New Year. Nonstop usually costs more than one stop; compare both, and treat airline websites as the live reference.
- Baggage differences: on a single through ticket your bags are normally checked to the final destination. If you buy separate tickets and self-transfer, you must collect and re-check your bags and allow enough connecting time. Airlines using piece-based and weight-based allowances give different free limits, so read the fare conditions before paying.
Departing outside London: airports such as Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham generally have no nonstop flights to mainland China, so you connect through a European or Middle Eastern hub. On a single through ticket the airline rebooks you if the first leg is delayed; with two separately bought tickets, a missed connection is your own risk, so allow at least three hours between flights.
Document check before you fly: UK nationals can use the current unilateral visa-free arrangement and the 240-hour visa-free transit policy for short tourism, business, family visits and transit, but work, study and long-term reporting still require the appropriate visa, and visa-free entry carries limits on length of stay and where you may travel. Match your documents to your actual itinerary before boarding to avoid being refused at check-in.
