申请X1长期学习签证时，中国签证申请服务中心要求提交《外国留学人员来华确认表》，也就是常说的JW201或JW202表。这张表由招收院校出具，与录取通知书一起构成学习类签证的核心材料。

表格信息与护照不一致是申请被退回的常见原因。姓名拼写、护照号码、出生日期、学习期限任一处不符，都需要联系出具单位更正后重新出具，不要自行涂改或手写修改，否则可能被认定为材料无效。
领事官员在必要时可以要求申请人补充其他证明材料或进行面谈；是否颁发签证，以及签证的有效期、入境次数和停留期限，由领事官员根据申请人的具体情况决定。奖学金生与自费生在表格类别上通常有所不同，具体用哪一张以学校或奖学金管理部门的通知为准。

JW201 and JW202: The Form Behind Your China Student Visa
When you apply for an X1 long-term study visa, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center requires the Foreign Student Visa Application Form for Studying in China, commonly known as the JW201 or JW202 form. The form is issued by your host institution and, together with the admission letter, forms the core paperwork for a study visa.
- What the form is: the JW201/JW202 form is a confirmation form issued by a Chinese host institution for foreign students. It shows that you have been accepted by a Chinese school and is a required document for a study visa application.
- Who needs it: people who will study in China for more than 180 days apply for an X1 visa. Stays of no more than 180 days fall under the X2 visa, which has different document requirements.
- It works together with the admission letter: the X1 document list requires both the admission letter and the JW201/JW202 form, and the name, passport number and other details on both must match your passport exactly.
- Schools use a different form: for primary and secondary school students, the Confirmation Form for Foreign Students Accepted by Basic Education Institutions replaces the JW201/JW202.
- One more step after arrival: after entering on an X1 visa, you must apply for a residence permit at the exit-entry administration of the local public security authority at or above county level within 30 days.
Mismatches between the form and your passport are a common reason for applications being returned. If the spelling of your name, passport number, date of birth or study period does not match, ask the issuing institution to correct and reissue the form. Do not alter it by hand, as modified documents may be treated as invalid.
Consular officers may ask for additional supporting documents or an interview when necessary. Whether a visa is issued, and its validity, number of entries and duration of stay, are decided case by case. Scholarship students and self-funded students usually receive different versions of the form, so confirm with your school or scholarship office which one applies to you.
