Wuzhizhou Island lies in Haitang Bay in Sanya, Hainan Province. Also known as Lover's Island, it is a tropical island reached by boat, best known for diving, water sports and its coastal scenery. This guide covers what it is, how to get there, tickets and opening hours, the best season, practical tips and common questions.

What it is: Wuzhizhou Island is located in Haitang Bay in Sanya, Hainan Province, and is also known as Lover's Island. It is a national 5A-rated scenic area and the first island resort in China to combine water sports, specialist diving, high-end hotels, dining and leisure sightseeing in one place. The island has more than 2,700 native plant species and vegetation coverage of over 90 per cent; underwater visibility in the surrounding waters reaches up to 27 metres, and the rich coral makes it a well-known diving base in China. You must take the scenic area's boat to reach the island.
How to get there (from Sanya city): You can take public bus No. 28, which runs between Fenghuang Island and Wuzhizhou Island; according to public transport information platforms the first bus is at 06:30 and the last at 17:00, and actual schedules are subject to local bus operator announcements. How to get there (free shuttle bus): A free two-way shuttle bus runs between the scenic area and the cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex.
